The Incident

A 53-year-old employee of Recorder of Deeds (Cook County) tripped while walking through the office on unsafely-maintained rug. She suffered multiple fractures to her right wrist and has had multiple surgeries to repair them, and her hand was left severely impaired.

This case was tried before an IWCC Arbitrator in Chicago, who awarded the Petitioner the equivalent of nearly 100% loss of use of her hand.
